In May 2006 she published her first autobiography titled 'Jade: My Autobiography.' The book explained how her father left her mother when she was two and how her childhood was cut short when her mother became paralyzed in one arm, leaving her to take on the role of carer and mother. Her father later died of a heroin overdose, aged 42.
