As the 1980s progressed, Michael's skin was overtly turning lighter and his general appearance was a far cry from his youth. Some speculated that he was taking the drastic step of bleaching his skin in a bid to look whiter. Michael had also lost a significant amount of weight to achieve what he called “a dancer's body”.
