After The Jackson 5's sales started to wane, the band left Motown for CBS/Epic Records in 1975. Due to legal factors they were forced to rename themselves The Jacksons. The ever talented Michael was promoted to lead songwriter in the group, who released another six albums together in the eight year period of 1976 to 84.
