Lady GaGa has revealed she dyed her hair from brunette to blonde after an interviewer mistook her for Amy Winehouse.

The American singer said the journalist had been interviewing to her for five minutes before they realised she wasn't the Rehab star.

“Amy is a badass but I want to be known for my own look,” she told The Sun newspaper.

Lady GaGa, real name Stefanie Germanotta, has become renowned for her own unique style since she emerged with the hit single Just Dance last year.

As previously reported on Entertainmentwise, GaGa indulged in Japanese culture during a promotional trip to the country last week.

The singer wore a number of traditional Harajuku's gothic lolita outfits when she was taken on a tour of local fashions by one TV show.
