Brad Pitt's presence in Long Island is – unsurprisingly – causing quite a stir amongst its female residents.

It seems that ladies of Oyster Bay – where Brad and Angie have set up home while the actress films Salt in and around New York – are leaving the house dressed up to the nines on the off-chance they might bump into their new A-list neighbour.

"They are off the charts excited and everyone is dolled up, " a local tells People. "The moms are trying to look a little bit more polished. Instead of schlepping in sweat pants and messy hair, now they wear designer jeans and high heels, which they never wear.

“Usually it's Tod's or Gucci loafers. Everyone is putting a little more effort. Let's face it – he's a handsome guy."

One local who fears she may not be dressed appropriately for a run-in with the Hollywood star said: "I go to Dunkin' Donuts and believe me, I even think of it. I say, 'I can't wear those jeans, they make me look fat.' "

Just to make Brad even more endearing to the locals, the sexy star has apparently become quite the Mr Mom while in town, doing the school run and even reading books to the children in daughter Shiloh's class.

"At school, they think they are going to bump into him," adds the local. "Brad sits in the back of the classroom a lot. He is very unassuming and very sweet and nice."
