Kate Winslet has begun legal action against Daily Mail over a story which the actress claims suggested she had lied about her exercise regime.
The article, entitled 'Should Kate Winslet win an Oscar for the world's most irritating actress?', questioned Winslet's claim that she only exercises for “20 minutes every day at home”.
The Oscar-winning actress had commented on her routine in an interview with Elle Magazine.
Kate was left “distressed and embarrassed” by the newspaper's article, according to court papers.
She was also apparently left upset with the way the piece was written and believed it damaged her reputation as a role model for young women.
Kate, 33, is seeking £150,000 in damages and a ban on the article being republished .
The Daily Mail has not agreed to a bar, according to the BBC.
The actress, who won an Oscar this year for her role in The Reader, was awarded damages in 2007 in a different case against Grazia magazine.
The publication had suggested the Kate visited a diet doctor.
