Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have abandoned their honeymoon in Cabo, Mexico, over the outbreak of swine flu.

Their marriage hasn't got off to the best start but the newlyweds arrived back at LAX airport in good spirits and even kissed whilst wearing face masks.

The Pratts phoned in to Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Tuesday to reveal they were "in isolation" and wearing masks to protect themselves from the health crisis sweeping through Cabo San Lucas, where they were holidaying.

Now, after photos of the masked couple walking on a beach hit the Internet, Heidi has revealed they've cut their getaway short.

In a Twitter post, Heidi said: "So sad to leave Mexico (but) ready to get out of pig flu country!"

The couple hopes to jet off on a proper honeymoon to Fiji or Tahiti.
