Mel Gibson and Halle Berry threatened to upstage Wolverine star Hugh Jackman at his own premiere on Tuesday.

Mel stunned the crowd by showing up to the event hand-in-hand with the new woman in his life, Oksana Grigorieva, just two weeks after it emerged that the actor's wife of 28-years has filed for divorce.

It's believed that the 39-year-old Russian singer – who has a 12-year-old son with James Bond actor Timothy Dalton – is the brunette beauty snapped frolicking with Mel near his home in Costa Rica, prompting his wife to start divorce proceedings.

While the couple kept a low profile, refusing to pose together for pictures on the red carpet, taking his romance public so soon is still a bold move on Mel's part, and one that possibly wouldn't be welcomed by his soon-to-be ex-wife Robyn.

Also turning heads at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood was Hugh's X-Men co-star Halle, who looked stunning in a daring gown that showed off her famous curves to eye-popping effect.
