Jessica Simpson has reportedly left her record label Sony Nashville only days after pulling a no show at the Country Music Awards.

The former pop star changed her tune to a country beat last year but her Southern debut album Do You Know barely managed to drum up 200,000 sales upon its release.

At the time Jessica told fans that her decison to go back to her country roots was inevitable: "I am a country girl. I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to."

However, Jessica's rep told UsMagazine.com that she always planned to leave the label at some point: "She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album."

Maybe it's time to go back to LA LA land - the place which nutured a steady pop career and a hit reality TV show.
