Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were both on separate missions in Washington DC today.

Angelina was in the US capital shooting upcoming movie Salt, in which she plays a CIA agent and mistress of disguise who goes on the run – literally, as our pictures show.

Dressed in a beige coat and with a wooly hat covering a blonde wig, the actress ran for her life during an action-packed scene.

In between takes, Angelina – who was joined on the outdoor set by co-star Liev Schreiber and a stunt double who looked absolutely nothing like her – smiled and waved in the direction of the paparazzi.

While his partner was pounding the streets, Brad had his humanitarian hat on and was busy meeting US politicians to discuss his reconstruction project in New Orleans.

On Wednesday he met with Energy Secretary Steven Chu and yesterday he chatted with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi at the White House.
