Victoria Beckham's bid to be recognised as a successful fashion designer took another hit this week when her denim line was dropped by the store that launched it.
According to those in the know, the former Spice Girls' dVb range will no longer be stocked at Saks Fifth Avenue, after she snubbed them with her new up-scale designer line which has been sold exclusively to Bergdorf Goodman.
"Saks dropped Victoria Beckham's line," a store insider tells the New York Post's Page Six column.
"Bergdorf never carried her jeans, but they got her designer line anyway."
By all accounts, Saks' takings won't suffer too much from the decision.
"Nobody wanted to buy $300 jeans from someone who is not a trained designer," bitched the source.
A rep for the clothes horse confirmed, "At this time there is no Victoria Beckham product stocked at Saks, but we continue to work closely with several leading stores and many independent US fashion retailers."
Last year, Victoria's denim line was dropped by Henri Bendel and Kitson after reportedly achieving bargain bin status in the stores.
