Megan Fox will not be stepping into Lara Croft's combat boots now that they have been vacated for good by Angelina Jolie, according to the latest insider reports.

The Transformers beauty had been hotly tipped to replace the older actress as the sexy action heroine in the next big screen outing of the franchise, adapted from the popular Tomb Raider video game.

But her rep is adamant the actress won't be taking on the role of the gun-totting, scantily-clad character now that Angelina has moved on to bigger and better things.

A spokesperson for the star says, "Megan is not involved in this movie."

Plans for the third film - a follow-up to 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003's Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life - are still going forward as producers cast a new villain and love interest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
