In my "humble" opinion Stephenie Meyers "Twilight" (although a good book) cannot be compared to a gothic novel !!! I don't think the movie is that "original", only some aspects of it. I agree on "it’s more The O.C. than Nosferatu", it's a teen female movie. Although I must admit the lead actors did a great job (as mentioned a "mature performance"). Fact: HP1 earned $985million. The first 5 films earned a total of $4.7billon. HP Books sold 400 million copies. HP6 sold 9million copies on it's first day, breaking ALL records. Couple of years later, HP7 sold 11million on it's first day to break it's predecessor's record. 3 more potter films. 3 more twilight films. I say, let the figures speak for themselves.
