John Sergeant has decided to call it a day on Strictly Come Dancing.
In shock move, the former political news journalist confirmed his plans to leave the show with a public statement released this morning.
John said, "The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far."
John's not-so-fancy footwork has won him overwhelming support from the public since the show began but the judges haven't been so forgiving.
Lead judge Len Goodman said that John's dancing made a "nonsense of the show" and Arlene Phillips branded him outstandingly bad.
But the BBC claims to be reeling from John's decision to walk.
Controller Jay Hunt said, "We are very sad to see him go."
