  • Hair is political. All black models are under constant pressure to conform to a standard of beauty where their natural hair is deemed completely unacceptable. Tyra to Oprah they all wear wigs/weaves ALL THE TIME. Every black woman knows that straightening and weaving can lead to baldness, but these women still advocate the aesthetic of white hair on a black body, instead of standing up for themselves and being proper models of black beauty. They have the power to change things, maybe its time.
