Shock As Nigella Lawson Is 'Attacked' By Husband Charles Saatchi Outside London Restaurant

Celebrity chef was seen crying after the art collector grabbed her around the throat

Diners at a five-star restaurant in London were left shocked and stunned yesterday when they witnessed Nigella Lawson being allegedly attacked by her husband Charles Saatchi.

Pictures have emerged of the celebrity chef looking as though she is being choked by her art collector husband during a row outside Scott's, their favourite fish restaurant which is popular with many other celebrities.

The photos, which were published on the front page of the Sunday People, seem to show the couple engaged in a heated argument as they sat outside.

Saatchi, 70, appears to lean over the table and grab a terrified looking Nigella, 53, around the throat before pinching her nose.

EntertainmentWise has contacted Nigella's people for a comment.

Pictures have emerged today of TV chef Nigella Lawson apparently being attacked by husband Charles Saatchi outside a London restaurant (WENN)

According to shocked onlookers, Saatchi launched a tirade of angry words at his wife of ten years before grabbing her around the neck with his left hand, and then both before pushing both in her face as she pulled back, a look of fear on her face.

He was then seen storming off as she tried to compose herself at the table before walking to her waiting car crying and holding her hand over her face.

One onlooker told the paper that the incident was "shocking" to witness and said Nigella was trying to pacify Saatchi, even leaning over to kiss his cheek at one point.

They added: "I have no doubt she was scared. It was horrific, really. She was very tearful and was constantly dabbing her eyes.

"Nigella was very, very upset. She had a real look of fear on her face. No man should do that to a woman. She raised her voice and got angry but at the same time was trying to calm him down, almost like you would try to calm down a child.

"And yet she kissed him. She appeared to be a woman who loves him but was clearly unable to stop him being abusive, frightening and disrespectful to her."

When the news broke and the pictures emerged, angry Twitter users took to their pages on the site to condemn other diners for not going to Nigella's aid.

One wrote: "How arrogant of Charles Saatchi to abuse his wife in a public place and get away with it. Shame on all the diners near them."

Another added: "Distressed 2 read abt #NigellaLawson. Disappointed no one helped her. We need 2b braver as a nation. #domesticviolence is never OK."

And one woman said: "Re the Nigella Lawson story. Truly awful. Disgusted that rather than intervene and help, folk have done nowt but take pics for a fast buck."
