Scarlett Johansson Ditches Fiance Ryan Reynolds

Scarlett Johansson flashed her sparkling new engagement ring last night at the Costume Institute Gala in New York, but there was no sign of her fiancée Ryan Reynolds.

Just hours after the actress confirmed her engagement to Canadian star Ryan Reynolds, the 23-year old took to the red carpet at the city's Metropolitan Museum of Art without her new beau.

The actress had to pose for photographers with two other men instead, designers Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Reynolds, 31, is currently in Massachusetts shooting aptly titled new movie The Proposal.

A whole host of stars including Kate Moss, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Julia Roberts and George Clooney were present at the event. See the photos here.
