Angelina Jolie has criticised Madonna?s adoption of a Malawian baby, calling it ?illegal?.

The American actress has successfully adopted babies from Cambodia and Ethiopia, and feels Madonna?s controversial adoption of David Banda from Malawi was wrong.

She tells the Sunday Mirror, ?Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born. It is a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption.

?Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal."

  • i am appaled to see how many people voted for madonna. these people must have no sense of the legal system. she is a fame whore who thought she’d jump on the wagon to raise some press about herself so when her next shitty album comes out-maybe someone will go buy it. she is no saint, rather, a washed up old hag who needs some attention. she should have snorted more coke in her younger years; maybe we woudln’t have to listen to this drivel now!!!

  • It would have been more palatable if the child had actually been an orphan. Novel concept. If she is supposedly throwing millions to Malawi orphanage why not just give the father some money to get his child back? As if there weren’t other children to adopt (and I’m sure just as photogenic as little David which is the most important aspect for celebrities). I don’t deny David will lead ”the good life”, how can he not, but I find the whole thing a bit unsettling.

  • Angelina should keep her fat lips shut about this. Perhaps Madonna made some mistakes in adopting little David, but I think her intentions were good. After all, she is adopting a child where she is helping to build and sustain the orphanage. Angelina is right that adoptions should be done legally. But I think Madonna thought that’s what she was doing; and Angelina should leave the issue alone. Oh, but she’s a ”Goodwill Ambassador” now, so maybe it’s okay to speak out? She should be constructive.
