John Legend and model Chrissy Teigen are feeling broody and won’t let their previous fertility struggles stop them from expanding their family.
The couple share their pride and joy, baby girl Luna, and are planning to use IVF to conceive next time and it could be soon.
Speaking at the 48th Annual NAACP Image Awards, the Beauty and the Beast singer revealed the couple’s plans to expand their family.
“We want to have more,” he told E! News.
“We had a hard time doing it ourselves, so we got some help. It resulted in Luna and hopefully it will result in a couple more kids in the future.”
John, who will be performing at the Oscars with his La La Land co-stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, also gushed over his little girl Luna, who will be turning one in April.
“She’s doing so well. She’s so fun right now. She’s moving around a lot. She’s not walking yet, but she’s crawling with speed and exuberance,” the proud daddy said.
While family planning is on the horizon, so are the Oscars and having scooped a coveted gong at the 2015 ceremony, he’s excited to return this year with the new movie.
His own song, Start a Fire, wasn’t nominated for an award but the movie’s Audition (The Fools Who Dream) and City of Stars both received nods
“I’m excited, I love the songs,” he said. “Emma [Stone] and Ryan [Gosling] asked me to perform the songs they sang in the movie, and I was happy to do it. We’re happy to celebrate the film itself and all the great music that went around it.”
In the past, John spoke candidly to Newsweek about their struggle to get pregnant, as he said: “There are some who look down on people that have fertility issues and need to use IVF. We have had fertility issues for years and had to use IVF.
“Some people can’t reproduce naturally. We’re glad we had Luna the way we did, and hopefully we’ll have a few more kids through IVF.
“We think it’s a viable issue for people having fertility issues and encourage people that can’t have kids the old-fashioned way to do it the way we’ve done it.”
