John Barrowman has said that he would be upset if his Doctor Who character Captain Jack Harkness was not featured in the 50th anniversary edition of the show.
The Torchwood star, who is currently working on US show Arrow, has previously spoken about his desire to return to the BBC science fiction programme and is still hoping to get a call from series writer Steven Moffat.
John told The Sun: “I haven't been asked. I would love to [come back to Doctor Who] if they ask me.
“[Arrow producer] Andrew Kreisberg has already said if they want me in the 50th anniversary, he will give me the time off to do it. But it's not up to me.”
The actor's character Captain Jack Harkness first appeared in Doctor Who in 2005 and went on to appear in a further three episodes.
Captain Jack proved to be so popular with viewers that he was given his own spin-off show Torchwood.
