To say that Emeli Sande has had a busy 2012 would be an understatement.
The star has got married, won a BRIT, performed at the Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies, had two guest spots on The X Factor and one on The Voice UK, sung at Sports Personality Of The Year, had a No1 single with Labrinth, and shifted over one million copies of her debut album Our Version Of Events.
No pressure, 2013...
Speaking to The List, she said: "It's weird to think this time last year no-one knew who I was. I've since had a number one album, two number one singles and performed in front of the world at the opening and closing Olympic ceremonies.
"My highlight of the year was stepping out to sing 'Abide with Me' at the Olympics opening ceremony. That was a huge moment. And the most nerve-wracking of my life, not just the year. Partly because at the dress rehearsal, in front of 16,000 people, my mic wasn't working.
"However, I felt very calm when I stepped out. You can't really see people, you can only see lights. Everybody went very quiet. It was like being underwater."
She added: "Getting married was a highlight too, of course. It was the perfect day."
