Katie Holmes might have returned to work with a smile on her face on Boxing Day, but perhaps she hadn’t heard that news that her play was being closed early.
The ‘Batman Begins’ actress has been starring on Broadway in the play Dead Accounts, but poor ticket sales and less than complimentary reviews are reportedly to blame for the producers’ decision to close.

Katie returned from her Christmas break in Ohio, where she reportedly spent it with her daughter Suri Cruise, on Boxing and was pictured back at work.
It is unclear when she learned that the play will be closing early, as the last show will take place on Janaury 6.
Dead Accounts was set to end on February 24, but will now close after 27 previews and 44 performances from the cast, which was directed by Tony award-winning Jack O’Brien.
The show only opened on November 29, and tells the story about a character that returns to his family home with a big secret.
Of the show, Katie has previously said: “We have such a good time doing the show. And I love working with everyone.”
It’s been a turbulent year for 34-year-old Katie, who split with Tom Cruise in a swift divorce earlier this year, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
