Pitch Perfect Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson has been announced as the host of the upcoming 2013 MTV Movie Awards, reports the cable television channel yesterday.
The 28-year-old comedienne will play hot and star by acting in a satirical narrative throughout the awards show held in Los Angeles on April 14.
The Aussie Bridesmaids star gave a sneak peak of the show in a promotional trailer in which she plays a stone-faced hostage hiding in a candy bar in her mouth for a necessary snack.

And the trailer hints at a possible role for Wilson's real-like roommate, Brit actor Matt Lucas, who plays Wilson's captor.
The MTV Movie Awards offer a zany take on Hollywood's usual buttoned-up, black tuxedo and gown awards season.
The awards categories pay respect to blocbuster hits likely to be overlooked by industry stalwarts the Oscars and Golden Globes, and hands out popcorn-shaped trophies for genres such as ''best kiss'' and ''best fight.''
Previous hosts include Lindsay Lohan, Mike Myers and Jimmy Fallon.
