The family of Justin Lee Collins' ex-girlfriend have reportedly called for the comedian not to take part in Celebrity Big Brother in January.
The funnyman is rumoured to have been offered £100,000 to take part in the reality show next year and the family of his ex Anna Larke have allegedly hit out at his apparent offer after he was convicted of assaulting her in October this year.
Anna's brother Alex told The Sun: "It's disgusting that Channel 5 have selected him because of his conviction to boost their flagging ratings for Big Brother.
"They are essentially rewarding him for his abhorrent behaviour with the offer of £100,000 to appear in the house. Justin Lee Collins is a convicted domestic abuser and a bully who put my sister through a sustained campaign of emotional abuse."
He added: "I am asking the British public to do the right thing and support the plight of victims of domestic abuse by showing Channel 5 this will not be tolerated."
While Justin was convicted of the crime earlier this year, he has previously stated he would never accept the allegation.
In a statement following his conviction, he said: "I deeply regret the distress and anguish I have caused by my behaviour in what was a very troubled and difficult relationship with Anna Larke. After careful reflection in the last 24 hours I have decided not to proceed with an appeal againsy my conviction.
"I would like to re-iterate what I made clear in court, that I have never used or threatened violence against Anna Larke or anybody in my life.
"I accept that they jury have found elements of my conduct amounted to harassment which I apologise for unreservedly, but I will never accept the allegation that I am violent or an abuser."
