LA Reid shocked X Factor USA fans this week when he announced he was quitting the show, and now the music mogul has had his say on who should replace him.
The judge announced he would not be returning to Simon Cowell's show, instead he will bow out when this series ends next week. LA said he wanted to concentrate on his day job as chairman and CEO of Epic Records, revealing:
“I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected. Leaving saddens me a little bit — but only a little bit.”
The star has now told Access Hollywood who he would like to see replace him on the show:
“I have nothing to do with it, but my choice would be Jon Bon Jovi,” he told the site. “That’s who I would pick.”
Meanwhile commentators are speculating that Reid's exit could lead to a mass cull of the judging panel with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato's positions looking unsafe. Big boss Simon cut short questions on the subject last week, telling The Post: “It is that time of year where you are always going to get asked that kind of question. And I am not going to answer it.”
Meanwhile whilst Britney seemed sure of her position back at the beginning of the season telling reporters she would "definitely" be back. In recent weeks the pop princess hasn't seemed so sure about her future, telling The Post last week “Maybe. We’ll see”.
With dipping ratings Simon Cowell is reportedly keen for a X Factor shake-up on both sides of the Atlantic and has apparently set up meetings with Rihanna to try and entice her onto either the US or UK version of the show.
