He may have been booted off the X Factor in last night's final, but Christopher Maloney is still hitting the headlines, it seems as the scouser has now been accused of 'faking fans' when he and mentor Gary Barlow visited Maloney's old workplace.
Last night's show saw all finalists; James, Jahmene and Christopher, visit their hometowns to be greeted by screaming crowds and general madness. However, according to sources, Maloney's supporters had to be bulked up. Awks!
An 'employee' at Chris' old workplace told The Mirror: "I don't actually work in here, I was just told to come down and fill up the office because there weren't many people apparently."
"They just said, come down and watch - and I might be on the telly. I don't really know Chris to be honest, I'm sure he's a nice lad but I can't really pretend to know anything about him."
It's also been claimed that Christopher's welcome back footage was all rehearsed beforehand as well, with producers apparently 'handing out placards' to onlookers as Chris entered the city.
However, the Liverpudlian DOES have a fair few fans out there it seems, despite all the negative comments that he's put up with throughout previous weeks.
Whilst there were some who were unhappy that Christopher made it through the live final shows week after week, many fans took to Twitter last night to show their upset at the result.
One fan wrote: "@ChrisMaloney77 hard luck Chris, you did so well, after all the negativity you kept ur dignity and showed them all X", whilst another added: "Well done Chris for coming 3rd am so proud of you."
Proud of how well Chris did, another fan tweeted: "Well done Chris. U dis us all proud and most of all you did yourself proud."
Another fan, who watched Chris' elimination, wrote: "You may have come 3rd on the x factor but you proved yourself to all the doubters that you could make it to the final :-) X"
