He may have sailed through to tonight's final X Factor showdown but Jahmene Douglas wasn't the top performer when it came to tuneful notes on last night's show...
According to experts at AQA 63336, the UK’s most accurate text question and answer service, Jahmene was the most out of tune contestant on Saturday night’s live X Factor final, hitting 20 flat notes in his first performance of ‘Move on up’ and a further 17 in his duet with Nicole Scherzinger.
Meanwhile Chris Maloney, who was booted out of the competition last night, hit 25 bad notes in total, according to expert researchers who analysed each performance.
If the singing comp was down to tunefulness, James Arthur would be the clear winner who according to the experts hit just 8 poor notes across his two performances.
James even outshone the pro's with Kelly Clarkson scoring a mammoth 19 bum notes in her performance of 'Breakaway'. Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow weren't up to par either scoring 4 and 5 flats notes respectively. Finally Kylie and Rita Ora had 17 out of tune moments between them.
It wasn't just pitch issues poor Jahmene had to contend with last night, during his duet with Nicole came the jaw dropping moment when Nic's mic failed, forcing her to share Jahmene's.
As Jahmene started off the performance singing Whitney Houston's 'Greatest Love Of All' and made his way onto the stage, Nicole could be seen grabbing hold of the contestant's mic as she joined him singing the lyrics.
With one mic between them, they took turns in singing verses before performing together from one microphone. As the pair finished their performance, X Factor host Dermot O'Leary came back on stage and joked about the technical fail. He said: "This is the biggest show in the UK and we can't afford two working mics? That's what a live performance is all about!"
