The first of the early front-runners to play Christian Grey in the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie, Channing Tatum has been ruled out as he's set to take a break from acting.
The 'Magic Mike' star had been thought of by fans as a man likely the to do the role justice after his turn as a male stripper in that movie and being named the World's Sexiest Man by People magazine.
The actor, who previously joked that he'd take the part if his wife, 'Step-Up' co-star Jenna Dewan, played Anastasia Steele in the sex-filled movie, is apparently turning down movie roles though to focus on getting behind the camera with his own production company.
The star told Entertainment Weekly: "Reid [Carolin, his production partner] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct.
"We're going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few and really get caring about that section of our career."
Writers on the project, who are already beavering away with producers to produce a script, will apparently have to go to someone else, perhaps Superman star Henry Cavill who's been rumoured as in line for the role.
It's a shame though, as no doubt the judges at People magazine would've liked to see Channing enter the red room of pain.
