'California Gurls' songstress Katy Perry has been crowned 'Woman of the Year' by Billboard magazine, and the singer says it is an "honour" to be given such a title.
The singer has quickly become of the hottest musicians following the release of her second third studio album Teenage Dream, which shot to number one in several countries and spawned top 10 singles including 'Teenage Dream,' 'Firework,' 'E.T.' and 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).'
Katy was able to embark on a mammoth 12-month 124-date tour in 2011, so it should come as no surprise that Billboard has named her Woman of the Year - but it did for Katy.

"When I heard, I was very honoured. I was also a bit surprised because I thought my year was over!" Katy told Billboard.
"Especially with ending the tour last year, but it's nice to see that it's been extended. It does feel like this record has never ended!"
"It's nice, I really appreciate it. I like to be viewed as a strong woman and I think that's what Billboard is basically saying," she added.
It's not the music world that Katy has conquered - the 28-year-old recently announced that she will be releasing a third fragrance in 2013.
