As many people have slated Lindsay Lohan’s attempt to play one the world’s biggest screen icons of the 20th century, Lady Gaga – who likes to do things a little differently – has given a raving review of her friend’s performance in Liz & Dick.
The 26-year-old ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker wrote to her pal LiLo on Monday to let her know what a marvellous job she has done in playing the bushy browed and fair skinned beauty that is the late and great Elizabeth Taylor.
''You did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt, they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs,'' Gaga tweeted.
Lindsay, who is said to have gone through an enduring ‘whirlwind transformation’ to resemble the Cleopatra screen siren in any shape or form, has faced an insidious battle against an onslaught of criticism and snipes, replied with gratefulness.
''Thank you so much, you are such an incredible force and that means the world to me. Love and hugs hope to see you soon bella,'' she wrote.
And it’s even surprising that Gaga managed to catch a glimpse of the TV biopic since she’s busy touring in Paraguay and preparing for her Monday night concert. But the fact that Gaga reckons LiLo is ‘beautiful’ and ‘one of the greats’ says it all.
Celebs have come out in their flocks to slam Lindsay’s role in Liz & Dick, with E!’s Fashion Police star and comedian Joan Rivers saying: "Lindsay Lohan’s probation will be revoked because she lied to police."
''The same goes for her SAG card after playing Elizabeth Taylor,'' she added, whilst Law and Order SVU star BD Wong said: ''After shooting, I believe Lindsay Lohan was heard to say, ‘OH! I thought it was about Elizabeth BERKLEY!''
