Most celebs would jump at the chance to meet the one and only Dame Elizabeth Taylor, but it's now been revealed that Lindsay Lohan actually turned down the chance to have dinner with the late legend because she was 'too nervous'.
Dame Elizabeth definitely seems to be putting the effort in to meet up with the 'Mean Girls' actress and has even presented L.Lo with a ring shortly before she passed year 11 at school, which Lindsay apparently treasured along with the handwritten note that accompanied the jewellery during her film shoot for latest project 'Liz & Dick'.
Lindsay told U.S talk show host Jay Leno, "She had actually sent me a ring once and invited me to dinner, but I was genuinely just too nervous..."
The 26-year-old portrays Taylor in the new movie, which follows her relationship with Richard Burton and she had a little extra insight into the private life of her Hollywood idol thanks to the Dame's personal nurse.
She explains, "My entertainment lawyer, he knows the nurse that was with her for about seven/eight years, so I became good friends with her and she was on set most of the days I was working and she actually gave me one of Elizabeth's furs, which was nice of her."
Adding, "It was nice to have the inside things that I didn't know, that when she was home in bed she would karaoke sometimes to (the radio). It's the small details."
And Lohan claims the nurse was so stunned by the actress' likeness to Taylor, she was moved to tears by her performance.
She says, "When she came to set, you know I get aged in the movie, so when I had a different look she actually started to tear up and she said, 'You look just like her and you sound just like her.' That was a really big compliment."
And although the star is facing jail, she's insisted that she's never turned up to set drunk from the night before and has labelled her stint behind bars 'a blessing in disguise'.
According to RadarOnline, she tells a magazine: "Elizabeth was drunk on sets. I've never been drunk on set, ever. I did my time and I respect the law."
On prison, she continued: "As hard as it was for me to admit it when I was in denial, it was a blessing in disguise."
And on advise she would give her 16-year-old self? "Don't drink and drive. And be careful who you surround yourself with."
Wise words as ever, Lindsay...
