Jon Bon Jovi has finally broken his silence over daughter Stephanie's shock heroin overdose and subsequent arrest last week, saying that the “tragedy” was something he had his family “would have to get through”.
The 19 year-old student, Stephanie Bongiovi was found unresponsive in a Hamilton College dormitory in the early hours of Wednesday morning,(Nov 14) with police charging the student with possession of a small amount of heroin and marijuana, though the charges were later dropped.
Speaking of the shocking drug scandal, the Bonjovi front man said, in an interview with Fox 11 in the US.
"This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good," he said.
"What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living."
The 50 year-old added: "And then life goes on. Things happen."
The star has four children with his wife of 23 years Dorothea Hurley and according to insiders, “had no idea” about his daughter's partying way.
They told Us Weekly: "No one had any idea she did those kinds of drugs . . . Steph has a wild side, but she's not a crazy partier."
The teenager recovered in a nearby hospital following her overdose.
