Despite Benedict Cumberbatch's huge roles in Sherlock and a series of films, the star has kept himself grounded.

Cumberbatch will be returning to Radio 4 to star in the sitcom Cabin Pressure.

The sitcom is in its fourth series and stars Corrie’s Stephanie Cole and The Thick Of It’s Roger Allam.

Based on a tiny airline, the comedy has seen that team flying squaddies to Hamburg, metal sheets to Mozambique, and an oil exec’s cat to Abu Dhabi, all involving pitfalls and huge mistakes that have threatened the existence of the minuscule airline.

Cumberbatch plays hapless Captain Martin Crieff which, according to the Cabin Pressure webpage “has wanted to be an airline pilot since he was six, and before that he wanted to be an aeroplane.”

The critically-acclaimed show will be recorded in London next month.

Will you be tuning in to listen to Benedict on the radio? Or do you prefer to see him on screen as Sherlock?
