News of Kate Middleton's pregnancy has been eagerly awaited ever since she married Prince William last year and according to a close friend we won't have to wait much longer as the Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly pregnant.
Jessica Hay, who went to school with Kate and was a guest at the royal wedding last year, has said in a recent interview that the royal couple will be sharing the “wonderful, happy news” with the world next month.
She told New Idea magazine: “They’re planning to make an announcement in December.”
Jessica claimed that the Duchess had gained a bit of extra weight recently, though she still looks super slim to us and that the couple have been focusing on starting a family for a while, with two children the ideal number.
“It seems very traditional but of course they’ll be happy with two boys or two girls, they don’t want more,” she reportedly said.
“They’ve discussed it endlessly and don’t want to be older parents.”
The couple have been open about their hopes to start a family soon, with William saying earlier this year it was his “top priority”.
“I'm just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I are looking forward to having a family in the future," he said in an interview for US TV special The Jubilee Queen.
Speculation that a baby may be on it's way was sparked last week when an extra role in the couple's press office was advertised, with royal watchers believing it to be a sign Prince William is planning to quit his career in the RAF to become a full time royal.
Speaking of his decision back in May, the Prince admitted that starting a family would be the deciding factor in the end.
"I'm still trying to decide. It's a really difficult one because I really enjoy my time in the Air Force and I'd love to continue it," he explained, "But the pressures of my other life are building. And fighting them off, or balancing the two of them, has proven quite difficult."
The Prince made it clear though that babies are at the top of his priority list.
"More importantly, I'd rather like to have children. So that's the key thing really,” he added.
Babies were even on the Prince's mind during the Diamond Jubilee Tour of South East Asia in September where he revealed he wanted two children.
According to the MailOnline, 17-year-old Corine Ackermann, who was with school pals from the Tanglin Trust British School, said: "Someone asked him how many children he would like to have, and he said he was thinking about having two."
It's not the first time Kate's been rumoured to be pregnant, but we have to admit it would be a great Christmas present!
