Comedian Ronnie Corbett is reportedly set to replace Bruce Forsyth as the host of Strictly Come Dancing next year.
BBC bosses are said to have approached a number of other possible presenters in case 84-year-old Bruce retires at the end of the current series in December.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “It’s the first time we are hearing there could be movement with Bruce.
“In previous years it’s never even been spoken of. But producers seem to think that this year is [Bruce’s] last and they need to be prepared.”
Before signing a contract for the tenth series this year, the presenter negotiated a break from the show for the first time ahead of the live episode at London’s Wembley Arena.
In addition to funnyman Ronnie, professional dancer Anton du Beke and Claudia Winkleman, the former host of spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two, have been tipped as possible replacements.
