Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she doesn’t like listening to her old songs.

The singer told CNN that autotune was overused in some of her earlier hits, so she tries to avoid hearing them.

“Sometimes, I can’t listen to really old school songs… because they just use some much autotune when it’s not needed and it kills me, I can't listen to it” Clarkson admitted. “What I love about that though is on songs like ‘Miss Independent,’ not only was it autotune, I just sounded different, I sounded so young.”

Clarkson, who was the first winner of American Idol in 2002, is about to release Greatest Hits: Chapter One, so it must have been tricky avoiding her older songs when choosing what would go on the album.

There will be a couple of new tracks on the album though, including ‘Catch My Breath’ and ‘Don’t Rush.’

“[My song] ‘Don’t Rush’ is on the US album, and I would totally not have picked that song before because I would have been, ‘That’s cheese,’ she said. “Now that I’m living cheese and I’m in love [with boyfriend Brandon Blackstock], I totally love it.”

Greatest Hits: Chapter One is set to arrive in the UK on 26 November, and will also include  ‘Since U Been Gone,’ ‘My Life Would Suck Without You,’ ‘Because of You’ and other familiar Kelly Clarkson tunes.
