TV presenter Brooke Burke-Chavret has revealed she is suffering from thyroid cancer in a video message posted on YouTube yesterday.
The Dancing With The Stars TV presenter revealed that she had been suffering from the disease for a few months and that was hopeful for a recovery. She said in the video: "You never want to hear the word 'cancer,' but thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable cancers. It has an incredibly high success rate."
"I'm ready to deal with it, and I'm going to be fine. I feel really, really strong."
The 41 year-old even managed to laugh about her situation as she joked about the scar she might get from surgery.
She added: "In the hands of a very good surgeon, as I'm sure she has one, [the scar] doesn't necessarily have to be that visible."
Her DWTS co-host told The Talk soon after the news came through that he knew about his co-host’s situation for a while.
He said, according to People magazine: "She knows my love and support are with [her]."
"I've known about this for a few months, and I told her at the time she first told me that I've had experience with this in my family."
He said: "We're all right there with her."
The 41 year-old’s condition was discovered during a routine biopsy.
