Daniel Craig's James Bond is a little bit of a tortured soul, and it seems that part of that isn't just the star's acting talent but is due to the actor being tortured himself about whether he wants the role, and has said that he has even tried to quit as 007.
In an interview with Rolling Stone the actor said of playing 007: "I’ve been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it."
It's a very different message than the one Craig's been giving as he's promoting the movie, as he's been outwardly enthusiastic about his role as the suave secret agent.
However it seems that he would've jumped ship from the Bond franchise, but wasn't allowed to as he added: "But they won’t let me go, and I’ve agreed to do a couple more, but let’s see how this one does, because business is business and if the [bleep] goes down, I’ve got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their a** with."
That's a little glum from Dan, after all his new outing as Bond has broken British box-office records by taking £50m in the quickest time ever and is set for a US release this week.
It seems though that 'Skyfall' has made him more upbeat about being Bond as he praised the film at its premiere (although he could hardly say otherwise) . The moody admission to the magazine indicates that the actor maybe as conflicted about being his alias as the character is himself.
