Chris Brown's mum has lept to the defence of her boy amid backlash he has faced for donning a Taliban-inspired costume during a Halloween party.
The 'Don't Wake Me Up' singer has been criticised for turning up to Rihanna's Halloween party in Hollywood with a group of friends in terrorist-inspired outfit.
Taking to Twitter, the R&B singer joked about his costume to his followers, writing: "Ain't nobody f*****g wit my clique!" However, the 24-year-old's stunt didn't go down too well with some of his fans, who quickly berated the star for his poor taste in outfit.
"Who dresses up as a terrorist for Halloween?!" asked one fan, while another wrote: "Chris Brown thought it'd be cool to go as a 'terrorist' for Halloween. It's not."
Which prompted the singer's mum, Joyce Hawkins, to wade in and stand up for her son on the social networking site.
"Halloween is for fun, nothing more than just fun. Get a life please... So does this mean when we dress our kids as Satan we glorifying him or (is) it just out of fun?... Keep smiling angel," Joyce tweeted.
It was reported this week that Joyce has been bonding with Chris' rumoured girlfriend Rihanna, with the two recently reconnecting over dinner where they discussed RiRi's relationship with her son, according to a close source.
"For your info, she’s been reconnecting with Joyce and they had dinner the other day...They talked about life and what’s important in life and of course you know they talked about Chris," the insider told Hollywoodlife.
Adding: "I ain’t about to get into specifics about what their conversation was about but I know Joyce loves my girl and always thought highly of her."
