Seeing as it's Halloween today and we're in a freaky kind of mood, we've decided to find some inspiration for tonight's costume antics by looking back at some of the world's most frightful fashion faux pas' from Rihanna to Lady Gaga.
First up, we got a scare when the usually fabulous Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out in a disastrous looking Philip Treacy hat during a ladies luncheon in Melbourne.
And we know Treacy is famed for her wacky designs in which Lady Gaga is a fan, this bizarre number didn't quite suit our beloved Sex and The City actress which she wrongly teamed with a classic, underplayed Chanel tweed dress.

Another star who rarely gets it wrong in the style stakes is 'We Found Love' singer Rihanna, who looked like she'd dressed up as the big blue and grizzly Sulley from Monsters Inc when she promoted her fragrance Reb'l Fleur.
RiRi posed for the paps in the all-turquoise outfit featuring an ostrich feather top, later receiving hate from PETA for wearing the garment. We think this is one of Rihanna's weakest fashion moments, we prefer her edgy and provocative style now!
But one star who couldn't get the balance between provocative and stylish was former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, who has lingered on the top of 'worst dressed' lists with her see-through gold gown she wore to the Elle Women In Music Awards in Hollywood earlier this year.

The singer posed with confidence in a completely see-through floor-grazing lace gown which displayed her nipples in the most demeaning manner, so we think she tops our scariest fashion faux pas list of all time.
One starlet who hasn't felt as confident as Melody about their body is Lady Gaga in recent months, who after being on the receiving end of nefarious hate and scrutiny from Twitter trolls about her 30lb weight gain, wore a fat suit dress in Paris a few weeks ago.
The star recently claimed in an interview with Stylist: "Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match.'' Poor Gaga!

And even though the 'Pokerface' hitmaker has committed her fair share of wardrobe malfunctions, this look could definitely be a winner for Halloween costume ideas.
On not such a spooky note, we had to include evolving fashionista Kim Kardashian to our list, who has spookily been possessed by her rapper boyfriend Kanye West in recent months when her style is considered.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has endured a list of fashion faux pas' including dresses ripping, outfits being too tight for her curvy frame amongst others, but we were most freaked out when Kim stepped out in $1000 Givenchy boots, which looked, quite frankly, atrocious.
We don't know whether it was the mid-length loose fitting black dress that killed it or just the reality star's petite frame, but we seriously got a fright when she stepped out in these monstrous clobbers under some serious Kanye West style surveillance.
