Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy were dating for a matter of months, but now according to a source, it was the singer who dumped the teen.
The 22-year-old, whose latest album Red has hit the top of the charts in the US by shift an incredible 1.2 million copies, has a well-documented love life and now Conor is the latest in a long line of beaus – with a source telling People that ‘she ended it”.
After a summer-long romance, Taylor was even reported to be buying a house near to the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port.
Now the insider from Conor’s school, the Deerfield Academy, has told the magazine: “His friends have said it’s over. I have a feeling she ended it.”
The split has come as a bit of a shock, and rumours have previously suggested that it had been Conor who had split with the singer. His own grandmother had publicly given her the seal of approval by saying that the ‘We’re Never Ever Getting Back Together’ star was “spectacular”.
Meanwhile, another report has emerged claiming that it was the Kennedys as a family that put pressure on the couple to split.
“The Kennedys have been against the relationship from the very start,” the insider told The Sun. “They weren’t happy about the age gap or the attention it put on Conor at such a young age.”
The insider also added: “Most importantly, they were worried about it affecting Conor’s studies. They want him to have a successful and fulfilling life, not be known as a pop star’s arm candy.
“The family have seen off bigger fish than Taylor and they appear to have won this battle too.”
