Britney Spears has had a pretty tough time lately, so much so that the star's dad and boyfriend have reportedly taken it upon themselves to ban the X Factor judge from the internet, amid fears that she could suffer yet another breakdown.
The singer turned judge is currently witnessing her darkest days getting played out in court, as the Sam Lufti case continues.
Britney's father Jamie and her fiance Jason Trawick, who are legally responsible for her wellbeing, took things into their own hands as the star's former manager Sam Lufti sued the 30 year old, claiming he was wrongly blamed for her falling apart in a book by her mum Lynne.
Last night (October 27) a source told The Sun: “Britney has been banned from reading about the trial for her own good. They are trying to protect her from all this. It will be terrible for her recovery if she reads about her worst days all over again.”
Lynne also included claims that she made in her book, that he was crushing prescription pills and giving them to the 'Slave 4 U' singer so that she'd go into a 'sleep induced coma'.
According to Radar Online, the mother did NOT go to to the police, despite being terrified.
She said: "I was so worried about Britney, I didn't know what to do when I found out Sam was crushing pills... I didn't call the authorities."
And despite putting on a brave face, it seems like the whole thing is getting to Britney as well, who is apparently devastated.
''Over the past four years you'd hear Britney's name and the first thing you'd think of was shaved head, psych hold, umbrella," an insider tells Touch Weekly magazine.
''But she got her life straightened out and now you think music, glamour, that big smile. The court case couldn't have come at a worse time.''
Britney's friends are also worried about the star having to relive her past troubles with the source adding: ''She's long battled mental health issues so to be reminded of this time in her life, when she almost died, is devastating. No one should have to relive what she went through.''
