Natina Reed, a member of the R&B singing trio Blaque, has died after being hit by a car.
The 32 year-old was walking along a Georgia state highway in an Atlanta suburb Friday night when she was struck by a moving vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle called 911 soon after the accident while a passenger performed CPR, but Reed was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby medical center.
According to Gwinnett County Police Sergeant Rich Long, authorities dealing with the case are satisfied that the driver was not at fault. No charges are expected to be filed.
Authorities are now looking into why the singer was walking in the road. She is survived by her son, Tren Brown, 10. His father is the rapper Kurupt, aka Ricardo Emmanuel Brown.
Reed, a New York City native, sang 1999 hits 'Bring It All to Me' and '808' with bandmates Shamari Fears DeVoe and Brandi Williams. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, who died over ten years ago following a car crash, was said to have discovered the group,
The two remaining Blaque members said in a statement Saturday that the group had recently reunited to work on an album and a reality show. "My world as I know it has forever changed," DeVoe Tweeted on Saturday. "Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina."
Union Tweeted, "#RIP #Sad #BringItOn".
