The X Factor have announced that contestant Lucy Spraggan will not sing in this week's live show as she is suffering from illness, but she will automatically go through to the next heat of the competition.
The ITV show's official Twitter account broke the news stating, "NEWS @lspraggan is just too unwell to perform on tonight's #xfactor"
It is thought that the hopeful is suffering from a case of flu, as she has not been spotted in public, or at the studios since the premiere of 'Skyfall' or her good friend Rylan Clark's birthday party- both of which took place earlier in the week.
This is not the first time in X Factor history that this has happened. In 2008, contestant Diana Vickers was allowed to pass through to the next stage of the live shows despite having not sung, due to the fact that she was suffering from Laryngitus.
There is also wide speculation that controversial contestant Rylan Clark is to be given the same treatment after revealing that he too is ill, although this has not been confirmed.
Reports confirm that Rylan is ill as he was spotted at the studios looking pale. The Essex boy who turned 24 earlier this week took to his Twitter account to tell his followers that he too was suffering, "F**k I'm ill" and has not posted anything on the social networking site since this remark.
Could this mean that two contestants could be missing tonight's live performance?
On last week's episode of the talent show both Kye Sones and Jade Ellis were suffering from a bout of flu and were ordered to rest their voices for their performances.
