Fox has announced that American Idol’s first episode will air on 16 January, bringing the new judging panel made up of Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban to our screens.
We’ve already heard plenty about the upcoming series, following a massive feud between Carey and Minaj that took place during the audition stages of the show, which has even reportedly got Urban threatening to quit.
Even US President Barack Obama has commented on the feud, saying that he thinks the pair will “be able to sort it out.”
There has been speculation that the war between the two judges has been exaggerated to try and boost ratings for the show.
Whether or not this is true, it’s certainly made us look forward to seeing what really went on between Carey and Minaj when American Idol’s new series arrives next year.
