Taylor Swift launched her new album Red in New York yesterday (October 22) and described it to fans as a 'patchwork quilt of emotions'.

It’s been six years since her debut and Taylor Swift has made a name for herself by sharing her most personal secrets and the up’s and downs of her many relationships.

First single off the album ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, released on Monday October 22 marked her first number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

And even though it is the dominating single, it doesn’t sum up the album with Taylor Swift telling MTV News the rest of the album doesn’t sound anything like ‘Never Ever’.

Taylor Swift goes onto say:''This album is interesting because each song stands on its own. It’s this patchwork quilt of different sounds and different emotions. I’m really happy about that because each song is its own approach to what that particular emotion sounds like, and it’s a really really different record from anything else I’ve ever done before.''

Talking about her favourite track ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ she said ‘At the end of the chorus I want it to just explode. It’s very subtle but I’m really excited because it actually sounds like the intensity of that emotion that I wrote about’.
