WATCH: Wayne Rooney Shaken And Stirred In New 'Skyfall' James Bond Parody

Man U star comes in for some criticism in mocking trailer

Wayne Rooney wouldn't be many people's tip to become a super spy, with subtlety not being one of his noted attributes.

And a new parody trailer seems to agree with that as it dubs the Man United and England star 'Awful' after showing Rooney attempt to infiltrate a hair transplant.

The clip, which appears to be cut together from some of Rooney's various advertising and public appearances as well as scenes from the film, was written by David Schneider and commissioned by Huffington Post Comedy.

Judi Dench's M demands to know where he has been, with Rooney replying, "Spain, Brazil... erm, Italy." also starring are Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs, the poorly cut together clip doesn't exactly have the production values of the latest Bond movie though, despite using clips of Craig, explosions and the now recognisable 'Skyfall' typeface.

At the end Rooney says  "They say he is a legend," before the titles come up saying: "Wayne Rooney is Awful."

One footballer with a more ringing endorsement as Bond is Liverpool star Steven Gerard, who star Daniel Craig tipped to one day take on the role, telling the Liverpool FC website: "Who would I rather be, captain of Liverpool or Bond? Well I don't think I could keep up any more so Bond will do but Steven Gerrard would make a good Bond. He is a good leader so you know what, seriously, who knows?"
