Cheryl Cole Shifts From X Factor To Strictly Come Dancing... As Girls Aloud Sign Up For Performance

Chezza's bandmate Kimberley Walsh is taking part

She was considered a major part of The X Factor's rise to dominance against Strictly Come Dancing in 2008-2010, but now Cheryl Cole has jumped ship.

Well, almost...

The star is set to take to the BBC One show's dancefloor next month as one fifth of newly-reformed Girls Aloud, as they perform their Children In Need single 'Something New'.

The girlband confirmed on Friday that the track is this year's official release for the annual telethon, and it has now been claimed that they will perform it on the show next month.

Band member Kimberley Walsh is a competitor in the contest, with professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev.

The charity special will be staged at Wembley Arena in front of 6,500 fans - and Kylie Minogue has also reportedly been bagged.

Kylie may well have her own reason to snub Simon Cowell's X Factor: earlier this year his book 'Sweet Revenge' lifted the lid on several embarrassing revelations regarding her sister Dannii.
