As the competition for the X Factor heats up, so have the stories and this week, so we've decided to give you a rundown of the biggest stories that have come out this week.

With the deadlock drama all in the past, all eyes were on X Factor judges Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh to see if they would kiss and make up on last weekend's show. Well let's just say there wasn't any kissing but the judges did decide to let bygones be bygones....right up until the acts started singing and it was time for them to give their feedback.

As the acts performed on Saturday night, Sunday night saw finalist Melanie Masson's X Factor journey end as a result of (a less dramatic) deadlock decision. Despite no longer being in the competition, Melanie appeared positive about her future, telling Entertainmentwise that she would be working with Gary Barlow again soon.

Whilst Ella Henderson and George Shelley denied that anything romantic was going on between them, James Arthur and glamour model turned body builder Jodie Marsh appeared to have participated in a bit of Twitter flirting.

Ooohh- er!

Having shook hands and put on a united front as judges for the show, Louis Walsh announced later in the week that he and Gary Barlow are never going to be proper friends. Talking to Heat magazine, he said: "Gary and I will never be proper friends. Gary has no sense of humour. This show isn’t about singing, it’s about entertainment."

With no scandal breaking by midweek, it looked like it was going to be a quiet week with the finalists getting their heads down and working away. Well, Rylan Clark and Lucy Spraggan changed all of that when footage of them appearing a tad worse for wear, surfaced.

Suffice to say, Rylan and Lucy had more than a hangover to deal with when the X Factor bosses decided to teach them a lesson and boot them out of the posh Corinthia Hotel for a few days. Commenting on his naughty behaviour, Rylan, told Heat:

"Oh god, the hotel were not happy with that kind of press. I’m holed up in a hotel in Wembley for five days. I’ve got to behave myself. I can’t believe it. I was so drunk, but I said I’d do it and I f***ing did it."

"The X Factor team warned me not to but they love it really.” Pointing the finger of blame to Lucy, Rylan told us: "I blame Lucy Spraggan for being a bad influence. She dragged me out on Sunday night and piling me with jager bombs."

Despite the telling off, Rylan revealed to us that he hasn't been put off from being a bit mischievous...

Rounding off the week, the lads of Union J got their fans into a bit of a frenzy when they announced that they were going to do a meet and greet. With fans heading to Brent Cross shopping centre to catch a glimpse of the boys, they were given the bad news that the meet and greet had been cancelled due to "health and safety issues."

Well well, here's to another week!
