There's only eight contestants left within the competition after 21-year-old Bristol Palin and dancing partner Mark Ballas were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars last night (October 16). Her departure has come a lot sooner than her last stint on the show, which saw her securing third place when she competed in Season 11.
The reality star's time on the dancing show came to an end earlier this week, exiting on the fourth results show of the season.
However, the daughter of Sarah and Todd Palin doesn't seem to regret her time on the show one bit as she said: “I had an awesome time and an awesome partner. I wish everyone the best of luck.”
The elimination hasn't seemed to come as much of a surprise for the pair however, as they were near or at the bottom every week throughout the season.
The reality star and dance pro partner Mark performed a rock-and-roll dance during Monday's (October 15) episode and scored 32 points out of 40. Competitors Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who were also in the bottom two, were saved from the elimination resulting in the exit for Bristol and partner.
After the show, partner Mark told reporters: “It's tough. She's never been eliminated before. She doesn't know what this feels like. I remember my first time. It was horrible!”
Bristol's decision to play safe throughout the competition, asking to keep routines 'basic' and preferring not to wear costumes, are believed to have had contributed to her elimination.
“You can drag a horse to water, (but) you can't make it drink,” Mark responded to the speculations.
“So if she wants to do what she wants to do that's totally fine. At the end of the day, they have to be totally comfortable. I'd never want a partner to walk out on stage and not be 100% confident, comfortable (and) not feel comfortable.”
Bristol's partner admits how proud he is of how far the star has come as he added: “She's got a thick skin and she pushes through. I've been with her every step of the way. I'm proud of her.”
